Literature Text

Empty notebooks and full ink pens
Clouds roll over with no rain
All the stores are sold out of
the only thing you went in for.

Flower bloom but they have no scent
Wishes drown in a wishing well.
All the stores you grew to love
have closed their doors and keep them shut.

Blank rolls of film sit on the floor.
Brand new signs over brand new doors
You go in but they're sold out of
the only thing you went in for.

All the leaves are falling down,
Going straight from green to brown
All your dreams are failing fast
All you dreams are fading fast
The sun is tired so it rests.
It is setting as it asks,
"Are you ready for this night,
the longest night that you could ever dream of?"
This is a song that I've written, for no other purpose than to break my writers block and get back in the swing of writing. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. It is nothing amazing, but I like. Check out the recording of it on my MySpace! Thanks for reading and listening!-Steve

Seeing it in poem format is very interesting after having already listened to it. But I enjoyed both, even though it's quite sad, like you said.
