"For sale: baby shoes, never worn."
-Ernest Hemingway
About the Contest|Ernest Hemingway was bet by his friends that he could not write a six word story. This is what he came up with. He was paid by his friends $10, we are offering SO MUCH MORE!
We judges are challenging you all to come up with a six word story as well, but since you wil be getting a lot more than Hemingway did, we also ask that you illustrate the story as well some how.
Now, these illustrations can be anything. They can be photographs, vectors, paintings, sculptures, you name it. There cannot be any extra words of any sort in the illustration itself unless they are the words of the story. There must only be on illustration.
This is the perfect chance for you guys to show off your skills across different mediums or gain new skills.
How to Deviate|The contest entries should be submitted under literature. You should click the "Add Text" button to put the six word story in. For the illustration, once you have added the story a preview option shows up. That is how you should put in the illustration, not in a separate deviation because this is supposed to be one complete work of art. Make sure you note at least one of the judges, *mode-de-vie and *Death-By-Romance, a link to the deviation. Please do not leave a comment with a link on our page or in the News article.
!Caution! Many famous writers and other celebrities have tried to write these stories but most of the time they forget that it is supposed to be... well... a story. Not everything has to be explicitly said in the story, and it might be interpreted in many different ways. I interpret Hemingway's as a woman had a still born child therefore they sold the shoes. It could be taken many different ways, but that is a full story, not just a simple statement, like "The baby has two shoes on." !Caution!
Contest Starts Tuesday, June 2, 2009 (whenever I finish this article)
Contest Ends Friday, July 3, 2009 11:59 PM (23:59)

A huge thanks to everyone who entered (53 entries total!), everyone who spread the word, and everyone who donated prizes. You're all awesome.

3rd Annual Six Word Story Contest Winners
Woo! So finally the results are up. I am sorry that the judging took longer than usual. As always my birthday was right at the end of the contest process, but I also moved houses the day before the contest ended as well and I've been looking for jobs, so I take the full blame for not getting this done sooner. Thank you for all who have waited patiently. Some how we, the judges didn't make our own stabs at it last year, but we did the first year, and wanted to make sure that we did this year as well, so here are our tries.

3rd Annual Six Word Story Contest
Hey guys! It must be June again! (it is if you didn't know). And June means Six Word Story Contest. I'm very excited for it this time around. Not really sure why. Well I know one reason. My freaking mom is a judge this time! She really wanted to do it and Sara's, mode-de-vie (https://www.deviantart.com/mode-de-vie), cool with it so my mom is a special guest judge. I'm wondering if she'll throw in a prize. That'd be cool. All of the information for the contest is on my blog, http://blog.stevenfrieson.com/ and Sara's blog, http://thisisartinterpretation.tumblr.com/ . I will have updates and big things in my journal but it's easier to use the blog for this. So abs
Beauty
Hey Guys.
I am in New York right now, and it's the last time I will be here for a long time. I am going to be spending the next four months living in Florence, Italy. I will be going to NYU in Florence, so I will be going to school there. So that's where many of my new deviations will be coming from. Photo's of Florence and hopefully Europe in general. Poems and lyrics inspired by Italia.
I wrote a blog about beauty, and how I think New York is probably the most beautiful place I have ever seen in the world. I wonder what some of you would think about it. It is a little bit long, but I am really interested in your ideas, so if you'd
